This systematic review of the literature on public participation is the first stage of the Arts and Humanities Research Council funded project that seeks to develop a Code of Conduct for inclusive participatory planning. The aim of this literature review report is to capture what has been written in academic literature about the practice of public participation within UK land use planning and placemaking since 2010, with a view to suggesting areas for further research.
